CONVERSATION ABOUT ADDICTION (2023)

Addictions come in many forms. Worship is at the heart of addiction. When we fail to worship God alone, we are prone to worship ourselves and our desires. All of us can become addicts.

People suffering through addiction feel helpless and hopeless. Does it have to be this way? No!

Jesus is the Great Physician.  He can heal anyone of their addiction. Jesus came to set us free!

CONVERSATION ABOUT ABUSE (2022)

There has been a lot of news about how churches have mishandled cases of domestic abuse within their congregations. The church should be a sanctuary, a place of healing and support. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Abuse can happen anywhere, including the church.

How can we be better equipped to recognize and respond to abuse in a way that honors Jesus and reflects His love and compassion for the oppressed?

CONVERSATION ABOUT PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY (2021)

Why are so many young people leaving the church of their youth? Has the church lost its way?

There is a new brand of Christianity, called Progressive Christianity, that is drawing more and more people away from the church

What does Progressive Christianity teach and promise? Why is it so attractive to so many in our culture? Should this be something our church embraces?

CONVERSATION ABOUT JESUS AND HOMOSEXUALITY (2015)

“Jesus and Homosexuality” is a deliberate title to this miniseries.

At stake here is discipleship—what does it look like to follow Jesus? How can we glorify Jesus by what we think and say and do regarding the issue of homosexuality?

Bringing Jesus into the discussion of homosexuality reminds us that this is not just a spiritual or religious issue. It keeps us honest. It keeps those who want to endorse homosexuality from wrapping it in a superficial spirituality of grace without truth and it keeps those who want to condemn homosexuality from using truth without grace as a justification for their anger and as a way to hide their fear.
